Critical Thinking in Teacher Education: Course Design and Teaching Practicum

Critical Thinking is considered a key component of Higher Education that supports graduates’ preparation for the labor market. However, in field teacher education more research needed to support student-teachers with regard complexity schools. It teaching practicum can set stage cultivation skills and dispositions, as have face real problems be led decision-making. The paper presented here describes curriculum transformation courses offering theoretical lectures Department Primary Education, University Western Macedonia. After focus group discussion in-service teachers, dispositions necessary were thoroughly described utilized course design. modified include variety strategies following direct infusion approach training aim promoting reflective practices fostering student-teachers’ critical reflection. In this way, they empowered regarding their professional development.
